Orange Chocolate Chunk Cake

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, room temp
1/8 cup orange zest (2 oranges)
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
6 tablespoons buttermilk, room temp
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup dark chocolate chunks mixed with 1 tablespoon flour (I used Hershey's 60% Cocoa 100g bar)
Syrup:
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line 9x5" loaf pan with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in eggs and orange zest.
3. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
4. In a small bowl, mix together orange juice, buttermilk, and vanilla. Add to butter mixture, alternating with dry ingrdients. Pour into loaf pan.
5. Bake 50-60 minutes until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean.
6. For the syrup, place sugar and orange juice in a saucepan over medium heat and stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour syrup over warm loaf.
7. Cool, slice & serve!
